After the passing of our President and CEO, Sheila Bugdanowitz, Anne Garcia was appointed to serve as Interim President and CEO so the Foundation could continue its important work in the Greater Denver community, without interruption. Anne, the staff and the Trustees will ensure the Foundation continues to operate in the ways you have come to expect.
As chief financial and operating officer at Rose Community Foundation, Anne Garcia manages all aspects of finance and administration. She works with the president and CEO, the Board of Trustees and Foundation committees to direct the Foundation’s growth and strategy, and to manage the Foundation’s endowment. She also advises program staff on the implementation of grant initiatives and reviews grant proposals that require financial and business expertise.
Prior to joining Rose Community Foundation in 2002, Ms. Garcia was vice president of administration at Echostar Communications Corporation, a broadcast satellite company, and served as both controller and manager of financial reporting for more than nine years with Minorco (USA), Inc./Independence Mining Company. She also spent 12 years in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche, where she was senior audit manager.
With a B.S. in accounting from the University of Illinois, Ms. Garcia is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado. She serves on the boards of the Colorado Association of Funders and Urban Land Conservancy. She is a steering committee member of Mile High Connects.
Ms. Garcia is past president of the board of Girl Scouts – Mile Hi Council and is the recipient of the Colorado Women’s Leadership Coalition Women Leaders of Excellence Award and a former member of the Colorado Nonprofit Loan Fund board.
