Education Impact Goal
To eliminate the achievement gap and create opportunities for all children to experience academic success in the Greater Denver K-12 public school system. Learn more about our Education philosophy and the various ways we strive to make an impact.
Education Grants Funding Priorities
Teacher Effectiveness – Projects and efforts that support the recruitment, growth and/or retention of great educators to ensure that teaching in low-income schools in communities of color is of the highest quality. Â
Systemic Change – Projects and efforts that both seek to close the achievement gap, while producing quantitative student achievement results so that the success of the projects is measurable.
Recognizing that schools alone cannot raise student achievement, we will make a limited number of grants each year to education programs operating during out-of-school time.
Grants Generally Not Supported
The Education program area generally does not fund:
- Capital requests
- Individual charter schools or private schools
- Professional development opportunities that are not part of a district-wide program
It may be helpful to review a list of recent Education grants to determine whether your program or project is a fit with our funding priorities.
We accept applications for programs or projects that serve the seven-county Greater Denver area of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson Counties. Learn more about this and other grant eligibility criteria.
We encourage applicants to speak with Program Officer Janet Lopez prior to submitting an application to the Education program area to discuss their program, project or organization.
