MazelTot.org kidsConnecting Young Families to Local Jewish Life

Background

Rose Community Foundation created MazelTot.org, a Jewish Life grant initiative, in 2009 to connect parents of prenatal through preschool-aged children to local Jewish life and to each other because we believe early childhood is a window of opportunity for Jewish engagement.

When a parent has a baby, their life undergoes a transformational change – seeking out new friends, resources on parenting and early childhood education that reflects their values. Celebrating holidays or having Jewish friends are not only choices they make for themselves, they become choices they can make for their family. There is no more important time for Jewish communities to engage new parents and help them take the next step on their family’s Jewish journey.

In 2012 and 2013, MazelTot.org was named one of the nation’s 50 most innovative Jewish nonprofit projects by Slingshot: A Resource Guide for Jewish Innovation.

In 2016, the program changed its name to MazelTogether. Together with a grantee partner network of dozens of local Jewish organizations, MazelTogether works to create better networked Jewish communities throughout Greater Denver and Boulder, making it easy for families to explore all their Jewish options in one place, to try out new Jewish experiences and to get connected to other families with young children

Get Involved

On the  MazelTogether website, families can explore programs and events offered by dozens of local Jewish organizations and can redeem up to three big discounts on Jewish things to do throughout our community. MazelTogether partners reflect the full spectrum of Jewish denominations and offer everything from prenatal yoga and early childhood education to weekend retreats and Shabbat dinners. Parents who sign up also receive a weekly email highlighting upcoming community programs and events. Recognizing the high priority many parents place on making new friends, MazelTogether also helps parents connect to one another through introductions and playgroups facilitated by MazelTogether volunteer parent connectors.
