Boomers Leading Change in Metropolitan Denver
In the first half of 2007, Rose Community Foundation completed a study of the local environment to gain an understanding about the potential for experienced adults to make meaningful contributions in the community, as well as barriers to doing so. Some key questions were asked:

What does the adult population over 55 look like today, and through the next decade?

What are the opportunities for people over 55 to use their experience, skills and talents in meaningful employment?
-
What are the opportunities for experienced adults to engage in community service through volunteerism and leadership activities?
-
What educational and training resources are available for, and tailored to the needs and interests of experienced adults making career and life transitions?
-
Most importantly, how do today’s adults aged 55-65 and still active in their careers envision their future? How do they want to spend their remaining healthy years? What goals do they want to pursue? What barriers and perceptions stand in their way? How do racial, cultural and socio-economic factors affect attitudes and motivations concerning aging among the 55-65 population?
