February 1, 2008 Rose Community Foundation Announces New Chair and New Board Member Denver, CO - Rose Community Foundation’s board of trustees has announced the appointment of a new chair and one new trustee. Both of the appointments are effective January 2008. Scott Levin will serve a two-year term as chair of the board. A Foundation trustee since 2004, Levin formerly chaired the Foundation’s Child and Family Development Committee, and has served on the Audit Committee and the Jewish Life Committee. He is a senior partner at the law firm of Fisher, Sweetbaum, Levin & Sands, P.C. Levin serves on the boards of the Anti-Defamation League - Mountain States Region, Denver Campus for Jewish Education and the Regional Council of the American Israel Political Action Committee. Levin is also a member of the Community Leadership Board of Mile High Montessori Early Education Centers. He is past president of the board of trustees of Congregation Emanuel and a founding board member of Stepping Stones…to a Jewish Me. In addition, Levin has served on committees of the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado and the Colorado Bar Association. He is a graduate of The George Washington University and the University of Denver College of Law. Milroy A. Alexander has joined Rose Community Foundation’s board of trustees and will serve a five-year term. Alexander has been the executive director and CEO of Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) since 2001. CHFA is the premier affordable housing entity in Colorado, financing homeownership, multifamily rental housing development, and loans to small and medium-sized businesses throughout the state. Alexander joined CHFA in 1988 and served as director of finance from 1990 through 2000. Before this, he held a variety of finance positions in international accounting and business firms. Alexander is a CPA and graduate of Metropolitan State College in Denver. He currently serves on numerous boards including: Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association, Housing Colorado!, Lowry Redevelopment Authority, Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, National Council of State Housing Agencies and Northeast Denver Housing Center. He has also served on the board of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and is currently on its Finance Committee. In addition, Alexander has completed the Denver Community Leadership Forum, Leadership Denver and the University of Notre Dame Executive Development Program. He is the recipient of the 2006 David E. Bailey Small Business Advocate of the Year Award presented by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Rose Community Foundation supports efforts to improve the quality of life throughout the Greater Denver community through its endowed grantmaking programs, and by advising and assisting donors who wish to make thoughtful charitable investments to better the community.
