Rose Community Foundation works with other funders and a diverse array of nonprofit organizations to elevate the concerns of children and families to a top priority in Greater Denver.Dramatic economic, social and demographic changes are creating new challenges for children and their families. Thousands of children in the Greater Denver community remain vulnerable, growing up in circumstances that are too often unsafe, unhealthy, and lacking in emotional and mental stimulation. The Foundation focuses its resources on efforts that directly benefit young children, and programs that help strengthen the community’s most fragile families. Rose Community Foundation invests resources in developing and improving early childhood care outside the home, including advocacy initiatives aimed at increasing public awareness of, and access to high-quality child care. It also supports parent-education programs that help parents raise children who are physically and emotionally healthy, and mentally prepared to learn. Recognizing that economic self- sufficiency is the key to strong families, the Foundation supports employment and training programs that help people find stable jobs, and support services that help them advance up the career ladder. In addition, the Foundation funds organizations that offer family support services, such as child care, health care, affordable housing and other efforts essential to parents who need to work full-time.
