Families First (Denver): $5,000 for parenting classes and a toll-free help line for Spanish-speaking families. Parent Pathways (Denver): $60,000 to support teen parents in raising healthy families. St. Luke's Ministry (Denver): $5,000 to support a Certified Nurse Assistant training program. Stride (Lakewood): $31,250 to help low-income families develop and implement plans to become economically self-sufficient. Warren Village (Denver): $50,000 to provide educational programs, life skills training and employment services to low-income, single-parent families living in this organization’s affordable housing complex.
January - March 2010Boulder County Housing Authority (Boulder): $10,000 to help low-income families move toward self-sufficiency. The Center (Denver): $10,000 to expand programs for GLBT families at this organization’s new facility. Dress for Success Denver (Denver): $7,500 to support economic self-sufficiency for low-income women by providing professional work attire and career development tools. Early Learning Partnership (Denver): $50,000 to support strategic planning for this organization that will coordinate state and local groups focused on early learning. Colorado Nonprofit Development Center serves as fiscal sponsor. The Empowerment Program (Denver): $4,570 for a market research study to plan for a job training program. Grantmakers for Children, Youth & Families (Silver Spring, MD): $7,500 to support the activities of this national association of grantmakers seeking to improve the well-being of children, youth and families. Housing Colorado (Denver): $20,000 to support affordable housing education and advocacy for low- and moderate- income families. Jefferson Center for Mental Health (Wheat Ridge): $30,000 to provide parenting skills training and to promote school readiness to families in Denver and Boulder. The Kempe Foundation (Aurora): $50,000 to establish the Fussy Baby Colorado program for parents with young children who are difficult to console.
