What is a community foundation?

A community foundation is a philanthropic organization focused on building permanent endowments that generate funds to address changing needs in the local community. Rose Community Foundation provides support in two ways:

  • The foundation has an unrestricted endowment from which the trustees, committee members and staff make grants to support local efforts in five areas: Aging, Child and Family Development, Education, Health and Jewish Life.
  • The foundation works with private donors, including individuals, families, family foundations and donor groups to professionally support and administer their charitable activities.

Rose Philanthropic Services is the arm of Rose Community Foundation that offers donors a variety of services and a broad range of giving opportunities to help them achieve their philanthropic goals. Rose Community Foundation’s program experts are available to assist donors in making wise grantmaking decisions.
